What great students I have! I was so happy today when I logged on to my computer and saw all the wonderful messages on the blog from my kids. I’m glad to hear that so many of you are reading some really great stories, and that many of you are working hard to move up on the reading bulletin board in the hallway (almost to 100 Christian R. – way to go). Many of you asked where I am. Well, I had to have surgery last Wednesday, so I was in the hospital in Springfield. I am at home now resting so that I can heal and get back to you guys soon! I miss you so much. It is definitely lonely here, though I do have my dog Toby to keep me company. Please keep writing to me to let me know what you are doing and what books you are reading. I just finished a great book called Nim’s Island. Hope to hear from you soon!

I am currently reading a book called “The Road”. I thought it was going to be sort of a “City of Ember” for grown-ups, but it’s not really. It has won the Pulitzer Prize, but so far I am not really loving it…it is not written in chapters, but rather in short paragraphs, and each paragraph is like an event or memory. There was no real character introduction, so I have not connected with them yet, which is probably why I am not liking the book that much. I will let you know if it gets any better as I go along:)

I just got done reading a book called, The Report Card.
On Mon night I read 97 pages!! It took me three hours though. I’m done with my book now and I Got a 100% on the test. Now I’m reading Andrew Lost In the Bathroom. It’s alittle different than I thought it would be. Oh no! I have to take a test on Friday and I have not praticed yet.

Hey ms. matzat I hope you are feeling better. I just finished this book called “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets”. I took an AR test on it and I got about 13.0 or so. Now I am reading Secrets of Droon Wizard or Witch?

I am reading a book called “Inkheart” I got it yesterday,
It is bigger than me! I got quite a few books. I have 40 something points, almost to 100! It’s been BO ring round here without you.
What kind of dog is Toby? A Lab? I have a chocolate Lab, named Milo. Milo is really rambunctious! I hope Santa will be able to give out Wiis. they are pretty rare round’ the holidays.
