I’m Lonely!

I hope you all know that I will miss you very much while I am gone for the next three weeks. Please write and tell me about the books you are reading and what you are doing. I won’t be able to write back for a bit, but know that I will read everything you write to me. It will cheer me up greatly to hear from my students. Be good for the substitute!

Your lonely library lady,

Magazine Mania!

This week in the LMC we took a look at the great magazines we have available to read. Which magazine is your favorite and why do you like it?

Love, Lizzie: Letters to a Military Mom

November 11 is Veterans Day, which always gets me thinking about the men and women who serve in the armed forces to protect our country. One of the centers in the LMC has you read a great story called Love, Lizze: Letters to a Military Mom. When I read this book, it reminded me of when I was young and my dad, who was in the air force, often had to leave our family to travel to other countries. I missed him very much when he was gone, and I was always very happy when he returned home safely.

Now that you have read Love, Lizzie, tell me how the story made you feel? What do you think it would be like to be Lizzie and have your mom gone for a long time to another country?

I can’t wait to read your comments!
